Jordan Britenburg Eagle Project
During construction the new MOW sign remained covered. Upon completion of the project, MOW director Ms. Laurie Ashley, my family and I decided to have an unveiling and recognition reception for the major project contributors. Invitations were sent, the MOW staff prepared a fantastic reception feast and we all gathered for the big event. The turnout was excellent and included county council, county maintenance, city officials, and other VIPs from around Anderson. The local newspaper showed up and suddenly scouting and MOW were making the news. It brought good publicity to both. As it turns out this project, through integration of city and county representatives and numerous news articles, renewed many interest in the MOW facility and mission. Other improvements over and beyond the original project scope began to come to life. Some during the project and other even after it was complete. In addition to serving the needs of MOW, the project also became a catalyst for future interest in MOW. I found great satisfaction in knowing that my work had created new community awareness in support of a cause that I had been a part of all my life.
